Red Wine
Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc
13% ABV

Maison Blanche is a 28 hectare left bank estate and has the highest percentage of Merlot planted in the Medoc, indeed Merlot makes up 80% of this blend with a little Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc doing the rest.  The wine making and vineyard management for Chateau Maison Blanche is consulted by the team of legendary winemaker Stephane Derenoncourt.  While the average age of the vines is 20 years, there are old vines, some of which date all the way back to 1954. The estate focuses on biodynamic and organic vineyard farming techniques earning their certification for being 100% biodynamic in 2011.

Bright and vibrant in style, aromas of blackcurrant, plum and cedar spice dominate.  On the palate flavours of raspberry, dark cherry and blackberry fruit are balanced by mouthwatering acidity and well-rounded structure.  Lots of spice, anise, vanilla and leather notes on the finish.

Food pairing:  Irish stew
