Red Wine
92% Cabernet Sauvignon & 8% Petit Verdot
Barossa Valley, Australia
The Kaesler family were pioneers who settled in the Barossa Valley in the 1840s.  In 1891 they bought a parcel of land and in 1893 planted their first vines.  Today, Kaesler Wines are made from these ancient, dry grown vineyards by the third owners of this magnificent property.  This estate Cabernet Sauvignon was grown in three of their vineyard blocks, planted in 1970, 1985 and 1990.  The wine was aged for 24 months in French oak prior to bottling.

Very earthy Cabernet nose with aromas of olive leaf, cedar spice and layered with red stone fruit, plums and blueberry.  Soft elegant palate, very drinkable even in its youth, partly due to good balance of flavours between the fruit characters and savoury notes from the oak.  Rich on the finish with notes of dark berries, liquorice and mocha.

Food pairing:  Roast beef or lamb
